Alan Sidney Patrick Rickman has born in 21st Feburary in 1946 in London. He had one elder brother and an younger brother and sister. He had a Welsh mother and Irish father. Unfortunatly Alan’s father, who was a factory worker died when Alan was just eight. His family was not reach, and his mother had to brought up them very modestly. She got married again, but this mariggie did not last very long. Alan was very unhappy, because he had not a father and his life was not easy, so he used to work very hard. He was a hard-working child, so he got a scholarship to Latymer School very quickly. He had a lot of talents, he painted beautifully, he was a good calligrapher. In Latymer School Alan started acting on stage thanks to his teacher- Colin Turner. But Alan did not think about his career as an actor. When he finished a school he passed egzaminations to Chelsea College Of Art And Design, he attended to a cours of graphic in Royal College of Art. In Chelsea College he met his big love- Rima Horton, who has been an actress for some time.
They had got similar interests. They are together to this moment, but Mrs Horton is a lecturer of economy at university. She is a politic and she belonged to the Labour Party.
When Alan was a young man he did not know precisely what he wanted to do in his life. He and his friends decided to set up a solon of graphiti in Soho, but this idea was nott good. They were very happy, because they could have fun, smoke marihuana and drink, but they did not earn money. One day Alan sent a letter to RADA (Royal Academy of Dramatic Art). He was twenty-six, he did not want to come back to school, but he was in a tought situation. He delivered a monologue of Richard III and he was admitted. By next years he spent studing the acting and he played roles in performences like the 'Ghots' and the‘Measure for Measure’, for these roles he got tree the golden medals of Bancroft. When he finished RADA he played in anything ‘Babes In The Wood’ for example, in musicals like ‘Joseph And His Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat’. In 1977 he and Mrs. Horton moved at Holland Park. In 1978 he belang to the Royal Shakespeare Company with Ruby Wax, but he spent there only on year. He went to a little Bush Theatre in London. He went to a little Bush Theatre in London. The first success
In 1980 he came to USA as an assistant of a director of ‘Desperately Yours’ (comedy show) at the Colonnades Theatre in New York. 1982 he played in ‘Smiley's People’ and in 1984 he created a role of the Vicomte de Valmont in Les Liaisons Dangereuses. This performance was taken from New Your to London. Alan was nomited to Tony’s prize. Unfortunatly he didin’t get a role, when this performance was filmed. He was so worried that he didin’t get a prize and he has never watched this movie in cinema. But in 1987 a producer Joe Silver asked Alan to play a German terrorist- Hans Gruber in ‘Die Hard’. Alan played in this movie for free, because producents spent a lot of money for Bruce Willis. Hans Gruber was so orginal character that people remembered Alan very well. They accost him, and say that he was a great playing in this movie. Alan became an expert of playing vilians, however he played in other movies, diffrent characters.
After ‘Die Hard’ Alan got other and interesting roles like a dead lover- Jimmy in ‘Truly Madly Deeply’ with Juliet Steevenson. Alan was popular in Hollywood, too. He played in a big productin ‘ Robin Hood’, and people remembered him better that Kevin Costner. In spite of these succes Alan played in little productions like ‘Close my eyas’ and ‘Mesmer’, Alan was upset that these movies have never become popular. But in the theatre evyrything was better that in movies, Alan played Hamlet, and this performences was good judged by critics.
Mr Rickman dislikes talking about his private life. In his free time he reads interesting books, meets with freands and watches good movies. He also takes help for some organisations.
